Marvel Rivals Developer Plans To Introduce Two New Heroes Per Season, But Will It Backfire?

I can’t keep up the pace

One of the newest sensations in action and shooters is Marvel Rivals. Not only is it because of its chaotic gameplay, but many of us enjoy playing with our favorite superheroes and meeting the other lesser-known heroes in the MCU. However, if live-service games want to last, they must constantly provide new entertaining content. One of the ways for Marvel Rivals to maintain its future relevance will depend on the number of heroes they add each season. Yet, fans believe there will be many new heroes in a very short time.

In an interview with Metro, they asked Guangyun Chen, the game director of Marvel Rivals, how many heroes they would like to add and in what timeframe. Chen shared that the plan is to introduce two heroes per season of Marvel Rivals.

Every season we’ll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We’ll actually be breaking down each season into two halves. The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community.

This is in addition to creating new maps, events, and more to make sure that the community is happy. However, while we’re glad to have new hero options, this also raises concerns among fans. Many believe that having new characters every three months could be detrimental and that doing it as such a fast rate could make it difficult to have unique and different kits.

Also, having so many heroes can make it difficult for players to keep up with the stores and to get enough Units, not to mention the skins for each character. This is when players should be careful not to succumb to the FOMO involved in games with so many characters. I can’t blame them; we all want to get our favorite heroes, and sometimes, resisting those outfits can be pretty tricky. Ultimately, fans will likely have to be more selective with which heroes they want in their roster, at least if we want to enjoy the game without having to take out a new mortgage.
