The Real Housewives are known for their extravagant lifestyles, over-the-top personalities, jaw-dropping fashions, and extremely dramatic fights. Since its debut in 2006, the reality TV franchise has spawned many iterations, which have caused a lot of chaos (and tears) along the way. From Orange County to New York to Atlanta to Salt Lake City, the stars of the Real Housewives know how to bring it. And the best part about it … they’re never afraid of a little argument. So, if you’ve been looking to binge new seasons of this unscripted masterpiece, check out one of the five below.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta (Season 6)
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is highly regarded as one of the franchise’s best iterations. It birthed the careers of iconic reality stars like NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks and brought some celebrities, including Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore, back into the spotlight. The first three seasons were something special, and much of the drama was driven by NeNe’s feuds with her co-stars. Season 4 is where the series took a turn and became a pop culture phenomenon. The batch of episodes opened with Leakes’ explosive argument with Shereé Whitfield, where she famously said, “I am rich, b-tch.”
However, Seasons 5 and 6 took things to another level. The cast included the aforementioned players, plus Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams. There were physical fights, dramatic arguments, and heartbreaking friendship break-ups. But it didn’t stop there. The reunion also had shocking scenes, including the unbelievable moment when Porsha physically dragged Kenya across the floor.
The Real Housewives of Potomac (Season 5)
When The Real Housewives of Potomac debuted on Bravo in 2016, it instantly became one of the network’s heavy hitters. The cast, which included Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, and Robyn Dixon, all had close ties to each other. Monique Samuels joined during Season 2, and instantly clashed with Gizelle, Robyn, and a few of the others. She carried the drama throughout the next few seasons, mainly due to her beef with Candace Dillard Bassett. However, things reached the point of no return during Season 5 when Monique and Candace got into a physical altercation.
Monique was fired from the series following the Season 5 reunion. She attempted to apologize for her behavior after the moment aired on television. However, Candace wasn’t going for it. “I’m not someone who fights physically. My mother never told me that if something happened, I need to fight. My mother told me to use my words and I will obliterate you — I own up to that — and I think what happened was Monique couldn’t take it,” she told People.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (Season 4)
The cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City came out of the gate swinging. Their first season was one for the Bravo history books, and fans immediately praised their iteration as one of the best. The Jen Shah and Mary Cosby of it all kept viewers entertained. Heather Gay and Whitney Rose were the cousin-duo we never knew we needed. And Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks were too fabulous for words. Season 2 featured the shocking arrest of Jen Shah, while the end of the episodes concluded with her guilty plea, resulting in a six year prison sentence. But it was Season 4 that really put them on the map. After a season full of lies, commotion, and nasty rumors, the season finale ended with a jaw-dropping argument in Bermuda. During their trip, the ladies found out one of their cast mates had been trolling them online from a secret account for years, revealing extremely damaging information. The fight included Heather’s iconic line, “Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots!,” that took over the reality TV zeitgeist.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey (Season 12)
The Real Housewives of New Jersey has always been dramatic. During Season 1, the show’s breakout star, Teresa Giudice, became a reality TV icon when she flipped a table at her cast mate. From there, the ladies continued raising the bar, causing chaos at baby christenings, family getaways, and fashion shows. Because the drama on Jersey is always top tier, it’s hard to pick the best. But since we are choosing, then we must give Season 12 its flowers. For once, the focus wasn’t on Teresa’s issues with Melissa and Joe Gorga, rather it centered on her drama with the other ladies.
Teresa took things to the next level during an argument with her co-star, Margaret Jospehs. During their heated conversation, she emptied an entire table of drinks on Josephs after the latter called Giudice a liar. “I’ve never done that before. I’ve only flipped a table once on Danielle, and now I did this to Margaret. And, of course, it’s always people that are poking the bear. Margaret poked the bear. I had enough,” Teresa said about the incident.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Season 5)
Very few seasons of The Real Housewives can get us riled up like Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It had everything, from activated cast members to entertaining storylines. There’s a reason many view it as one of the best. From Brandi and Kyle’s near physical altercation to Eileen’s feud with Brandi during dinner, there was enough conflict to go around.
However, the moment that’s remained etched into people’s heads occurred during their cast trip to Amsterdam. During dinner, Lisa Rinna and Kim Richards got into a fiery discussion over addiction. At some point, Kim threatened Rinna with releasing information about her marriage, which set Rinna off in a way never seen before on the show.
“Let me tell you something,” Rinna said, “Don’t ever touch my husband.”
“Don’t you f-cking ever touch my husband,” she repeated, as she lunged for Kim’s neck as if she was going to choke her. “You never go near my husband,” she said again before grabbing a glass of water and throwing it on Kim. “Do you f-cking understand that? You never go after my husband,” she finished as she smashed the glass to pieces on the table.
