Marvel has tried to keep the MCU train rolling with fits and starts since the culmination of the Infinity Saga. Falcon, Bucky, She-Hulk, Agatha, and numerous new heroes have tried to take the mantle and lead the MCU into a new future of relevance and importance, but their time is over. Foggy, Karen, Frank Castle, and Daredevil himself have risen out of their Netflix graves to carry the torch in the hype-inducing Daredevil: Born Again trailer.
Daredevil Is Back and Redder Than Ever in Born Again Trailer
The trailer goes to great lengths to answer some long-lingering questions, even if it doesn’t use a lot of talking to say it. Matt’s trusted companions Foggy and Karen both make appearances, a mysterious new villain is shown fighting the Red Devil himself, and Murdock and Fisk have a tense and uneasy conversation in a small New York diner. All the while, court drama, brutal action, and blood litter the transitions with a clear message that Daredevil is indeed back.
And why is it so important that he is back? Well, because the MCU needs a rousing success. Daredevil was such a beloved show. It was the only true megahit from the spinoff Netflix brand of R-rated Marvel television returning with a cast of characters and stories fans love and want to see more, not a new face they need to warm up to. Although it’s just a little ole me saying this. Clearly, Disney and Marvel feel what I feel, or they wouldn’t be ‘assembling’ Robert Downey Junior and Chris Evans in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars mega-blockbusters in the nostalgia play of the century if they can pull it off.
As for the lawyer himself, we hopefully will learn more about Daredevil and his place within the MCU once the show debuts on Disney Plus on March 4.
