Have you been playing the Star Wars Battlefront II beta? Well, don’t worry, because even if you haven’t, or simply want more, EA has officially extended the public event until Wednesday, October 11th.

The multiplayer Beta for Star Wars Battlefront II began on October 4th for those who pre-ordered the game and October 6th for the rest. It was originally set to end on October 9th, but Electronic Arts announced the two-day extension on their Twitter account mid-afternoon on Monday.

So far, the beta has been met with mixed views. While many have praised the game for its improvement regarding gameplay and atmosphere, just as many (reviewers and critics both) have criticised Star Wars Battlefront II’s loot box system.

Loot boxes in Battlefront II are how players are able to obtain new abilities and crafting materials, which serve as a mean of making new materials and weapons. The problem is that it takes hours of playing in order to get a single loot box and the items are completely random.

The workaround that grind? You guessed it, pay to play. Just like so many other games currently using microtransaction to obstruct content (Forza Motorsport 7, Shadow of War, NBA 2K18) fans are pissed that paying more money offers gamers who can afford it in game advantages.

If the trend continues, it could spell another let down for fans, following the disappointing latest installment in the series Star Wars Battlefront, which lacked content and variation. If there is one silver lining though, it’s that finding and fixing problems are one of the biggest reasons beta tests exists, so maybe it won’t be as bad upon release.

EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II will be available for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 17th. For more information, be sure to check back to the site for updates, as well as all of your other Nerdy News and Needs!
