A man in California is being accused of racism after a video surfaced showing him calling a woman a “crazy Asian” during an argument.
The woman shared the video online and said the incident took place at Charles H. Wilson Park in Torrance, California. She warned people about visiting the park, claiming it is “notorious for racism,” and added, “Don’t go there if you’re a minority!”
According to the woman, her group had reserved a tennis court at the park. She claimed that when they arrived, the man and two other men allegedly forced them off the court. She accused the group of taking over the tennis court despite her party having booked it beforehand.
In the video, the man accused of racism was seen sitting on a bench. He asked her, “Are you another crazy Asian?” in reference to the earlier dispute over the tennis court. The woman reacted in shock, repeating the phrase back to him and asking whether he was going to assault her.
“This is a public park. You make racist remark toward me? Are you joking?” she then asked. Instead of apologizing, the man doubled down, saying, “It’s not racist. It’s factual.” The woman then said she would go to the police station. In response, a boy accompanying the man told her, “What is the police gonna do about this?”
The woman again insisted that the comments made were racist in nature. However, the boy with the man denied this, saying the “crazy Asian” remark was not racist. The video ended with the man smiling while looking at her as she continued confronting them. In a comment, the woman added further details, saying: “We booked and paid for the court, they harassed and bullied us off of the court. Made racist remarks to my friend calling her an entitled asian lady. Then when I walked over to start filming, one man said ‘another crazy asian’ @South Bay Responders – racism at charles wilson park, torrance.” There have been no further updates on what happened afterward.
Viewers Express Outrage At Racist California Man
The video sparked reactions online. Viewers were left outraged after hearing what the California man said and the dispute over the reserved tennis court. One person advised the woman, “This is when u call the cops n report that ur being harassed.” Others expressed sympathy for her situation as another commenter simply wrote, “i’m so so sorry.”
More viewers in California expressed outrage over the racist remarks made during the confrontation. One commenter wrote, “It always takes me out that the white supremacist types always look like….the least supreme to put it lightly like you’re gonna be derogatory on… appearance???? Like be so fr.” On Reddit, another user claimed they witnessed the incident and said it escalated further, writing: “I was here at the same time, the fat [expletive] in the white shirt got up in her face and called her a [expletive] and threaten her. We were all watching to make sure he doesn’t beat her. Cops came.”
The video sparked broader discussions about racism and discrimination, particularly toward Asian individuals. It also led to debate online about accountability and whether those involved in the confrontation should face consequences for their actions.
