Pizza is an all-American staple cuisine. We all love to eat it and order it, and nothing hurts the soul quite like a bad pizza. Well, the Ohio owner of one particular pizza joint is tired of the critics and is clapping back at poor customer reviews in a somewhat hilarious fashion. Are the owners justified in taking customers to task over their critiques?
Pizza BOGO, which touts its 3 World Champion Pizza awards it won from 2017 through 2019 is the pizzeria featured in the above controversy. Reddit user Blanketkween posted about this drama in the r/Cleveland page and reader reaction has so far been mixed at best. Some are coming to the defense of the restaurant and owner, while others are slamming them for being petty and defensive. One Google review read as such.
“I RETRACT MY FORMER STATEMENT! WORST PIZZA EVER!!!! This is a first time visit photo followed by my second visit. Doughy, undercooked, over cheesy when I didn’t ask for extra cheese. When I took it back in they said it can’t be doughy bc all their dough is precooked?! It tastes awful, no flavor or seasonings, IT’S GROSS!!!“
The owners then responded in a sarcastic tone that reads quite funny while dismissing the customer’s complaints.
“Christina, itโs very simple. You decided to request extra pizza sauce on your pizza this time around which you have never done in the past. As the customer you decided to change the recipe/ toppings of the pizza, you canโt expect it to come out the same way it did in the past. But thank you for your terrible review of the pizza that you created. Have a fantastic day! Weโll see you next time.”
Another reader complained that a coupon did not work at all, to which the owner clapped back with a simple but brutal reply.
So you can read that it says Cleveland heights location but you canโt read that it says for TUE AND WED ONLYโฆ.cool I give you 1 star for your ability to read coupons. Maybe-spend more time reading spend less time writing stupid reviews. Thanks !
Oh, and make sure when you take the picture of the coupon and post it you cover up the part where it says Tuesday and Wednesday only so no one can see it. Good job!
To be fair, the restaurant averages 4.2 stars out of 5 with over 1k reviews, which is a pretty stellar average. However, it’s never a good sign when all the latest reviews are pretty negative across the board. Hopefully, it doesn’t get too bad, as the Super Bowl is coming up, which is pretty much a pizza and wing national holiday, and poor reviews could cost the Cleveland Heights restaurant a ton of business.
