If there’s one thing Capcom knows, it’s how to make adorable animal companions. Monster Hunter Wilds delivers not just the cuteness overload of the Palico but also a secret weapon. The Seikret is an invaluable companion, helping you traverse scorching deserts and gloomy jungles alike. It might be a weird bird-dino thing, but the Seikret is also a steadfast friend in a world full of monsters. It doesn’t get much better than that. Since you’ll spend plenty of time with your mount, you’ll want it looking every bit as dazzling as you do. Here’s how to customize your Seikret in Monster Hunter Wilds.

A lot has changed since Monster Hunter World, but the importance of fashion hasn’t. While your Seikret isn’t quite as customizable as your hunter, there’s no shortage of options to tweak. Skin and feather color, patterns, decorations, and more can be adjusted. At first, however, only accessories such as scarves and trinkets can be added from your tent. You need to do some questing to get access to all the options. Here’s how Seikret customization works in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • To unlock full customization, you must complete “A Hunter’s Pride”
  • This quest requires you to hunt an Alpha Doshaguma, so equip yourself accordingly
  • After completing the quest, you can use the Seikret customization menu
  • You can change the colors of your Seikret’s skin, eyes, and feathers, as well as its pattern, pendant, and decoration, so let your creativity flow!

From the detailed hunting mechanics to the savory food, immersion is a key part of what makes Monster Hunter great. The ability to customize your Seikret this way in Monster Hunter Wilds is yet another way to ground yourself in the world. It might not make you even better with an Insect Glaive or keep the wyverns from chomping you up, but at least you and your Seikret will look amazing as you return to camp.
