Once you unlock Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll notice that they aren’t that easy to obtain, or well, that is until you get the Smelting Foundry. At the end of Chapter 2, you’ll unlock this new facility that will spit out Armor Spheres if you have the right materials. It may take a while to get some of them, but if you have some leftover items and are constantly hunting monsters around the map, your inventory will be full of Spheres in no time.

While the game does a great job of explaining how to use this feature, let’s go over some of its functions once more. Basically, the Smelting Foundry in Monster Hunter Wilds allows you to exchange monster parts for Armor Spheres. The amount of Spheres you’ll get depends on the rarity of the monster part you use. For example, Chatacabra’s Scale, which is a very common material, will only give you one smelting point. For a normal Armor Sphere, you need 10 points, which means you need to use 10 Chatacabra Scales. However, if you use Chatacabra Shell, which gives you two smelting points, you’ll only need five of that monster part. Remember, though, the amount of smelting points will vary depending on the rarity of the Armor Sphere. The above example is only for the normal ones.

As you progress through the game, more and more monster parts will become available, allowing you to get even better Armor Spheres. Also, there is an auto-smelting function in the Smelting Foundry, but we always preferred to do everything manually to avoid any mishaps on our side.

Obtaining Ore

Once you reach High Rank and progress through the story, you’ll unlock another important function in the Smelting Foundry, which is Obtaining Ore. As you may know, the endgame weapons of Monster Hunter Wilds require some expensive materials, and one way to get them is through the Smelting Foundry. To do so, you have to follow the same process as that to obtain Armor Spheres. You must grab monster parts and throw them in. However, since you have access to High Rank armor parts, you’ll be able to obtain Ore much faster.
