Corona, California Arsonist Sets Fire to Car and Himself: ‘How Does an Arsonist Now Know Stop Drop Roll’

That’s probably the last time he does that

I’ve been trying to get my wife to agree to a security camera for our front yard for years. I think it’s a great way to monitor what goes on when you’re not home or are asleep. However, I think I’ve managed to change her mind after showing her this video of an arsonist setting a car ablaze. However, as we were watching, we noticed that it wasn’t just the car that caught fire; the arsonist set himself ablaze as well. It always surprises me what people are capable of and how they don’t think things through before doing them.

In the video, you can see a man approach a black sedan parked outside a Corona, California home. It’s unclear if the man had doused the car in anything that would burn quickly. However, just as he puts a lit flame on the vehicle to start the fire, it is quickly engulfed, resulting in a massive fireball. At one point, it appears that the flames completely engulfed the arsonist. But just before the video ends, you can see him climb the residence’s fence and run away, his clothes still on fire.

Commenters were quick to judge the arsonist’s actions, especially his handling of the fire itself.

“How does an arsonist not know stop drop and roll”

Realistically, that commenter is right because if he’s done this before, then he should know just how quickly a fire can spread and what to do should that happen. However, judging by the way he was running away from the scene, it’s likely this was his first time blowing up residential vehicles.

Also judging by his run, it’s likely that he wasn’t expecting the explosion to be so large. Honestly, I didn’t even think it would be a big deal, but I was proven wrong. Let’s hope the suspect is quickly apprehended to avoid him doing this to anyone else’s car.
