A workshop took place in Bonham, Texas, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, where Representative Pat Fallon addressed the audience. During the event, he discussed Elon Musk and potential solutions for Social Security. His remarks quickly gained attention online, with many sharing videos of the event after hearing his unexpected statement. Fallon suggested that the best way to reform the system is to inform younger generations well in advance that their benefits will differ from those of older generations. He also stated that young people should be prepared to work two jobs.

“The way we can fix social security is to tell young people 40-50 years ahead of time that they won’t be getting the same deal so they can go out and get a second job.” – Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX)

This short video was captured at a “2025 DOGE Workshop” at the Fannin County Multi-Purpose Complex. It was part of a series of workshops where attendees could interact with the Texas representative and ask him about various topics. Initially, someone brought up the claim that Elon Musk had said the government was planning to cut Social Security. Pat Fallon denied the statement, but a woman quickly responded that Musk repeatedly makes that claim.

Ironically, the viral video of the event included a short clip of Musk calling Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” Despite this clear statement, the Texas representative still insisted that he had never heard Musk discuss Social Security.

As the video went viral on social media, Fallon faced widespread backlash for his statement. Many strongly opposed his view that young people should work two jobs to save enough for retirement. “How the hell do they think this is going to work? You cannot work two full-time jobs, and without SS, you’re not going to retire on one. They literally want people to work themselves to death,” one Redditor commented.

Some expressed their astonishment that the Texas representative would even dare to suggest people work two jobs for several decades. Another Redditor joked that the U.S. government is currently “speedrunning the French Revolution.” “F this guy,” one Redditor commented heatedly.

One user remarked that Fallon was lying and that the government is planning to cut Social Security. They argued that the Texas representative’s suggestion for younger people to work two jobs is an attempt to condition the public into accepting that Social Security will no longer exist in the future.

Some shared their harsh realities, with one Redditor revealing that they juggle three jobs. “I’m 25, have three jobs, and I am certain I’ll never own a house or retire. I’m on my feet all day, every day, and I think it’s finally starting to catch up with my body. I joke that all I do is work, but it’s true,” the user said.
