Recently, former IGN editor and Kinda Funny Co-founder Colin Moriarty revealed that he would begin covering video games again. Earlier today on Twitter, Moriarty unveiled his the newest show would be titled Colin’s Last Stand: Side Quest.
The introductory video, found on both Patreon and the show’s new YouTube channel, reiterated a lot of the opinions he voiced regarding his decision to create the show in the previous blog post, as well as the demand for his return to covering gaming content from the community.
While Side Quest will be getting its own YouTube channel, everything regarding the property will still stay under the Colin’s Last Stand Patreon in terms of payments and tiers. The show will mark the first time that Moriarty has covered video games since departing Kinda Funny and starting his own Patreon.
Format wise, Moriarty himself has coined CLS: Side Quest as the spiritual successor to a previous show he did while apart of Kinda Funny called Colin Was Right. Nothing is really set in stone, as he says a lot of the content will depend on feedback from the community, but the subject matter of the content will vary from news to opinions on current situations, both celebratory and critical.
Moriarty did state that while he still plans to cover the historically and politically formatted subject matter Colin’s Last Stand has been devoted to since its launch, this will change just a bit. Instead of doing two episodes of CLS a week on YouTube, one episode a week will air on Thursday, while the Monday episode will be devoted to Side Quest instead.
“So Colin’s Last Stand becomes this sort of tripod Tripod. A three-legged stool,” said Moriarty. “One leg is the original Colin’s Last Stand, one leg is the new podcast series airing every week called Fireside chats (available on Soundcloud and iTunes services), and the third, newest leg is CLS: Sidequest.”
Colin’s Last Stand: Side Quest will launch Monday, November 20, 2017.
