They don’t just tell the myths, they put them to the test. MythBusters was a hands-down favorite for science lovers and fun seekers alike, running for an amazing fourteen seasons before finally leaving television in 2016. Little did anyone know, it wouldn’t stay that way. In fact, it’s back on TV this very day on the Science Channel at 9 p.m. PT. The myth lineup includes getting stuck in a chimney, making explosions out of flatulence, and if a person can be killed by having their feet up on the dashboard of a car.

The new season was preempted by MythBusters: The Search, a reality show looking for the next Jamie and Adam to host a brand new season of the show. That contest ended with Jon Lung and Brian Louden landing the contracts. Lung has engineering, product design, and wood and metalworking experience. He applied for The Search just after obtaining his master’s degree. Meanwhile, Louden has been a bar owner, rescue diver, paramedic, blacksmith, and drilling engineer.

The two received a great deal of support from the crew during the process of filming the new season.

“I think it was the advice Adam Savage gave us day one on The Search,” Louden recalls. “The one piece that kind of hit home for Jon and I was just be yourselves.”

And even though it won’t be Adam and Jamie taking us on the wild rides anymore, our new hosts will ring just as much variety, science, and excitement.

“When you watch the new season of MythBusters, it will be the same exact MythBusters you love,” says Lung. “We’re testing it, bringing our own flare, our own approach, our own kind of experience to MythBusters.”

Again, fans won’t have to wait long to see that new approach – the new season premieres today as of this writing! Tune in to the Science channel at 9 p.m. PT to see them test getting stuck in chimneys, creating flatulence explosions, and answer the question of whether or not putting your feet on the dashboard of the car can be deadly.
