A group of teenagers took this to a whole new level during a showing of A Minecraft Movie in Alaska. When a ‘chicken jockey’ appears on screen, chaos erupted and police had to interfere. It goes to show what is supposed to be an enjoyable experience for families can still lead to unexpected chaos.
Handfuls of recent reports have been surfacing related to disorderly behavior in movie theaters since the April 4 release. During the ‘chicken jockey’ scene,’ Jason Momoaโs character says, โItโs a fight to the death, kid.” Apparently, some teenagers took that way too serously.
One particular incident occurred at The Valley Cinema screening of the film, where members of the Wasilla Police Department in Alaska were called in to escort disrupting teenagers from the theater after the scene caused utter mayhem. The TikTok video shows two police officers announcing, โThe guys in the back that body-slammed an employeeโฆ all of you guys are not welcome here anymore.โ The police then escort over a dozen teens out of the theater in a walk of shame.
Unruly teenagers continued to complain and mutter about their annoyance in being asked to leave as they were being escorted. Luckily, the employee in question was not hospitalized over the incident. It could have easily taken a more devastating turn with the involvement of so many teens.
With several reports of chicken jockey-induced mania making internet rounds, theaters and police alike are urging parents to talk to their teens about proper etiquette in movie theaters and the reality that respect for others goes a long way.
