Since gameplay footage was shown at this years E3 2017, there has been a lot of buzz for the upcoming action-adventure game surrounding pirate life, Sea of Thieves. And if you simply can’t wait to get your hands on the game until its early 2018 release date, you are in luck!
Earlier today, Sea of Thieves developer Rare posted the news that players will have until December 1, 2017 to sign up for the games upcoming technical alpha. To sign up, Xbox One and Windows 10 PC owners must simply join the insider program. While joining the program itself is free, users are required to be at least 18 years of age and must have an Xbox Live Account with Gold membership.
For those who sign up in time, they will be invited to the next play session for the game, which will be Sea of Thieves second. Since the original Technical Alpha launched last year, the player base evolved from 1,000 players to almost 200,000 at its peak. Rare has promised that the second one will be even bigger, though no cap or estimate has been presented.
Alongside being able to play Sea of Thieves before anyone else, insider members will also receive regular updates from the development team through official forum posts and newsletters, which will also allow players to communicate and give feedback as well.
Rare also reminds players that while the Tech Alpha should certainly be fun, the game and those who play it must sign an NDA, meaning that gameplay can’t be streamed or captured at this stage.
The easiest way to sign up is to join the Insider crew at www.seaofthieves.com/insider. Sea of Thieves is slated to launch in early 2018.
