The Switch 2 hasn’t even launched yet, and itโ€™s already stealing headlines, from the much-hyped upgraded specs to a divisive price tag. Nintendo is obviously all in on this, saving a brand-new Mario Kart and a completely fresh take on Donkey Kong for the hardware. Fans are now asking about how strong the third-party support will be. This year’s second-biggest hit seems ready to answer that call, as Assassin’s Creed Shadows listing for the Switch 2 was spotted on the wild.

An eagle-eyed user on the Famiboards forum, beej, saw that PEGI’s homepage recently added ‘Nintendo Switch 2’ to the platforms available for Ubisoft’s stealth-action game. Although itโ€™s not listed on the game’s dedicated page, the homepage clearly shows Switch 2 among the platforms for Shadows. It immediately sparks speculations that a port could be in the works.

Of course, thereโ€™s always the chance this was a placeholder or a premature update. But this wouldn’t be too surprising if true. After all, Ubisoft has a long history of backing every platform imaginable. From iPhone companion apps, VR games like Star Trek: Bridge Crew, to Ubisoft+ support and ZombiU for the ill-fated Stadia and Wii U.

To add more weight to the rumor, several leakers have previously claimed Ubisoft plans to support Switch 2 heavily. Insider Nate the Hate once said Assassin’s Creed Mirage would arrive near the console’s launch, with Shadows coming later. There are also murmurs about older titles like Origins, Odyssey, and even Black Flag remaster being backported to the platform.

Currently, the game is already being positioned as a technical showcase for the PS5 Pro. If Switch 2 pulls off a decent Assassin’s Creed Shadows port, that would say a lot about the console’s capability. With all signs pointing to Ubisoft having big plans for Nintendo’s new machine, fingers crossed we get an official announcement soon.
