Michigan Father Forced Young Daughter to Assist in Home Burglary Before Abandoning Her To Save Himself: ‘Take Your Kid To Work Day’

Not the ideal father figure

A Michigan father, Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax, has been gaining some popularity online due to his absolutely horrible parenting skills. Andre allegedly forced his young daughter to help him break into a Detroit home. However, after the homeowners showed up, the father would seemingly abandon his 11-year-old and leave her behind to take the fall. The man was later arrested, as many social media users showed him no mercy online. Broadenax is most likely in a world of trouble right now.

The NY Post reports that the Michigan father, who has been identified as 29-year-old Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax, stole another man’s car in Dearborn, Michigan, on April 29th. He then drove to an under-renovation home only about 15 minutes away. Once at the residents, Andre would get to work. According to prosecutors, “The defendant forced” his 11-year-old daughter to assist him in the robbery. Broadenax would get quite the shock as the 75-year-old homeowner’s son would walk into the house. Andre then left in a hurry, leaving behind the stolen car as well as his own daughter. Andre is getting torn apart online as one fan from the comment section of the post jokingly said it was “Take your kid to work day.”

CHARGED ⚖️ Following an investigation by the Detroit Police Department (DPD), the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax, 29, of Detroit, in connection with breaking into a 75-year-old Detroit man’s home, pic.twitter.com/K1DmsKhEi4

Social Media Reacts to Michigan Father Leaving His Daughter at the Scene of the Crime

More comments would flood in as many users seemed disgusted by Andre’s actions.

“Father of the year right there,” said one.

“Babysitters are expensive,” joked another.

Finally, another wrote, “Maybe he thought it was Take Your Kid to Work Day.”

It would seem most people are not happy with Broadenax’s parenting or life choices.

Law enforcement officers from the Detroit Police Department were able to catch up to Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax pretty quickly, however. Andre’s on-foot escape probably wasn’t his best idea, as well as the attempted robbery with his child in tow. Residents of the surrounding houses in the neighborhood were also quick to slam Broadenax’s behavior. Many are also rightfully upset about the fact that a child was involved in the crime.

However, this Michigan father will be seeing the consequences of his actions. Prosecutors charged Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax with first-degree home invasion, second-degree home invasion, larceny in a building, receiving and concealing a motor vehicle, inducing a minor to commit a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Andre’s next court appearance will be on May 14th. Hopefully for his own sake and the sake of his family, Broadenax will just do his time and learn his lesson. However, it is currently unknown how many years he is looking at. It should be very interesting to see how his next court date plays out.
