When you are walking down the street, the least you could hope for is that nothing happens to you. Some unfortunate incident might happen after all, such as theft. Sometimes, though, these unfortunate events can be quite disgusting. A California woman had firsthand experience of how disgusting things can get while she was walking toward her work. According to the California woman, a man decided to cross the road only to spit at her. It’s easy to predict that people were left disgusted on behalf of the innocent woman.
The California woman details how a white male wearing a black hoodie jaywalked across the street toward her. The man then proceeded to spit in her face before walking away. She was left shocked, as to be expected, and wasn’t able to get a picture of the offender. The California woman also shared that she plans to ask nearby venues for security footage. She also plans on meeting with the police to file a report. The only good thing about this entire situation is that someone was kind enough to check on her and offer tissues.
People Reacting to the California Woman’s Situation
People immediately started to sympathize with the California woman after what she went through. Someone told her, “You didn’t deserve that. I’m so sorry.” Another person shared their own traumatic experience as they went through something similar. “This happened to me when I was only 17. Car full of guys. I was walking around the corner and the car was stopped at the lights. Passenger side, guy leans out his window and Shot a mouth full of saliva all over my face. I was so humiliated. My home life was traumatic and it never even crossed my mind to tell my parents. Happened in mill valley. I understand the feeling,” they wrote.
What makes matters worse is that other people also went through the same thing. Apparently, this is common. “I’m very sorry. Someone spat at me this winter, (obviously a man) I was able to duck. It is so f**ked up. I am so sorry,” another person added. One Reddit user advised the California woman to try and defend herself in case something similar happened again. “Im sorry this happened, everyone deserves to be safe and this person took that feeling away. There were people who came to help so remember there are still good people in this world. That said I recommend carrying a bottle of Sabre pepper gel so you have the chance to spit back at anyone who thinks they can mess with you without consequences in the future,” they wrote. I feel sorry for the California woman, but I’m thankful that I wasn’t in that situation.
