The Final Fantasy series, Square Enixโs bestselling video game franchise, has been commercially and critically successful since the first game was published in 1987. Theย genre of theseย science-fantasy RPGs hasย since broadened to include tactical (Final Fantasy Tactics), action (Final Fantasy XV and Dissidia), massively multiplayer online (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn), racing (Chocobo Racing for PS1 and Final Fantasy VII: G-Bike for iOS and Android devices), third-person shooter (Final Fantasy XV), fighting (Dissidia) and rhythm (Theatrhythm Final Fantasy).
Now, what if there was aย Street Fighter-styled Final Fantasy tournament fighting game?
To demonstrate this, Square Enix has employed its artistic geniusย and resources to conjure up Ultimate Fight Final Fantasy XIV. But hold theย excitement;ย unfortunately for us, this is not a real game. Square Enix has stated that this should not be seen as a project that’s currently underway. The developers just had some freeย time and decided to have a little fun re-imagining the game and its characters in yet another genre.
The video even features a character select screen, map locations, and impressive ground combat techniques, counter attacks and a limit break meter for special attacks.

Square Enix has also released a benchmark trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. The game will have new visual features after upgrading from DirectX 10 to DirectX 11. You can now download the benchmark software to see how well the game will run on your computer. It uses actual maps and playable characters to assign a score to your PCโs and rate its performance.
Last year at the Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest event in Las Vegas, Square Enix announced its first expansion pack Heavensward for the MMO, Final Fantasy XIV,ย and revealed that the level cap would be raised to 60. It will also introduce Primals, new classes, dungeons, new areas, high-end raids, the ability to perform flying mounts, and jobs.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was released in August 2013 for PS3 and PC. It was launched for PS4 in April 2014.
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will release on June 23, 2015 for PC, PS3 and PS4.
