The raids being conducted by ICE don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. They’ve been happening across the country for a while now, and the victims are almost uncountable. One recent example occurred in South Park, San Diego, at Buona Forchetta restaurant. ICE conducted an operation to arrest workers inside the restaurant, which is beloved by the community. Residents in the area weren’t happy; they stood up against ICE and tried to stop them from leaving the area with those whom they had snatched.
The footage of the incident depicts a scene of utter chaos. There’s smoke wafting across the area, shrouding huge groups of people. One group is standing in front of what seems to be an ICE vehicle as they try to prevent it from leaving. One woman even takes a discarded can from the garbage and throws it at the car. It turns out that the smoke was caused by ICE throwing flash-bang grenades at the crowds. Notably, ICE is this time armed with tactical gear. It looks like a scene from a war zone. Someone even calls them “piece of s**t” which is understandable.

Consequently, people were left enraged by what they had just seen. Moreover, the extremity used by ICE was seen as unjustifiable. Someone couldn’t help but notice how they looked like soldiers and not members of ICE. “Do we have any understanding as to why a show of force on this level was necessary at a f**king Buona Forchetta? Soldiers in the streets of South Park seems like a bit much,” they wrote. One veteran even mocked ICE’s appearance. “As a veteran, even deployed to a warzone, we didn’t wear as much bullcrap as some of these wannabe soldiers. F**king stupid looking jackboots,” they said. Aside from ICE’s appearance, a lot of people were proud of how the community showed up and tried to stop what was happening. “Thank you to the community members who showed up,” one wrote.
As a result, the use of flash-bangs made some people wonder about the source of the smoke. Afterward, someone explained what exactly was happening as they said, “They were flash bangs. They wanted people to move so they could make an exit with the people they kidnapped.” One Redditor even commented, “Run these ICE clowns out of town.” Amid all the insults toward ICE, someone was worried about the safety of the restaurant’s workers. “Omg like they went inside of buona forchetta??? Prayers out to the employees and customers,” they wrote. The entire situation is terrible. Hopefully, these raids will stop soon and the people kidnapped will be freed.
