Microsoft and Xbox have been at the forefront of gaming news for years now. Whether they are reinventing how players play games or releasing absolutely insane titles, it’s no secret that the two almost dominate gaming as a whole. Just this morning, Xbox announced a multi-year project with AMD to power the next generation of gaming experiences. What does that mean? Well, get ready for a generation of gaming unlike anything you have ever experienced before, from the comfort of your…well, whatever your Xbox of choice is.

Xbox has already announced various handheld consoles that will be developed with Game Pass in mind, but they aren’t officially by Xbox. However, I should have realized that the announcement was actually a teaser for their upcoming partnership with AMD. What’s probably the most interesting aspect of this partnership is that both Xbox and AMD are dedicated to delivering a gaming experience that doesn’t confine players to a single store or device. They also confirmed next generation Xbox hardware will be coming.

Does that sound too good to be true? It both sounds too good to be true and is indeed true. Utilizing the power of artificial intelligence and the player’s existing game library, the collaboration between Xbox and AMD aims to enhance all aspects of gameplay with improved visuals and advanced graphics.

“This is all about building a gaming platform that’s always with you, so you can play the games you want across devices anywhere you want — delivering you an Xbox experience not locked to a single store or tied to one device. That’s why we’re working closely with the Windows team to ensure that Windows is the number one platform for gaming.”

Personally, as a daily user of Game Pass, I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come. I love the idea of all my accounts and games being connected between my Xbox and PC, and can only imagine what this partnership could mean for other players who feel the same.

The above trailer doesn’t reveal anything else about the partnership or how it will be implemented for existing consoles and games. However, it does end with Xbox President Sarah Bond telling viewers that there is more to come, so an Xbox showcase might likely be announced shortly.
