Woman Traveling on Frontier Airlines Out of Washington Experiences Disgusting Problem With Luggage, ‘The Paper Towels Came Out Yellow’

Oh, that’s nasty

When you take a trip from one place to another by plane, you expect you’ll receive the best service possible. Should something adverse happen to your luggage, you may wonder how to remedy the situation. One woman from Washington took to Reddit when she found out her sister had a disgusting in-flight experience she’s sure not to forget anytime soon. Now, she’s wondering if there’s any way that her sister can be compensated for the matter.

OP took to r/frontierairlines to discuss her sister’s experience on a flight from Seattle to Dallas. She explained her sister’s backpack was stored under the seat in front of her. When the flight ended, she went to grab her bag but found that it was soaked. So, she took the bag to the onboard bathroom. Wiping it down with paper towels made her realize something truly awful. To her dismay, the paper towels “came out yellow.” It was apparent that somebody likely peed on the flight ,and her bag was drenched in it.

My sister’s backpack was soaked with pee on her Frontier flight and the airline says there’s nothing they can do except she herself confront the passenger… Is she really just stuck with this biohazard?

When OP’s sister exited the flight, she went to the staff at the gate to report the matter. They sent her to speak with a supervisor. However, the supervisor had no idea how to assist her aside from calling the general manager to take care of it. In the end, OP’s sister was told “there was nothing Frontier could do, and she would have had to ‘settle it with the passenger.’” Now, OP says her sister hasn’t had a resolution and isn’t sure about where she can turn.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much help to be had. A top comment explained Frontier Airlines isn’t actually liable for damage to carry-on baggage unless “such damage is caused by Frontier’s or its agent’s negligence.” In conclusion, the commenter states, “So yeah the only thing you can do is try and get the other person to pay but it won’t happen.”

You’d think this would be the end of it, but what if somebody did actually pee on the flight? As one person replied, “They can’t sit another person in that seat for the next flight. The area needs to be cleaned.” Then, a Frontier employee stunned us by replying, “Frontier doesn’t consider anything a biohazard unless it visibly contains blood.”

As they should, these concerned commenters prompted them to question the services they receive on Frontier Airlines flights. The flight employee made us even more grossed out when she added, “We also don’t have cleaners” and went on to explain employees will just lightly wipe seats down if somebody vomits. It’s a good thing I’m not flying anytime soon, and maybe it won’t be with Frontier Airlines.
