Nancy Grace makes it clear how shattered she feels following the jury’s verdict on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial. After dragging on for nearly two months in court, the 12-man jury finally reached a conclusion on rapper Diddy’s case, revealing the verdict on Wednesday. The latest update on Diddy’s trial confirmed that the Bad Boy Records founder, convicted last year after the feds raided two of his homes, uncovering several bottles of baby oil among other incriminating evidence, was found guilty on only two of the five counts against him.
Following the verdict, the legal commentator and TV journalist Nancy Grace is weighing in on the trial’s outcome, delivering her scathing take on everyone associated with the case. Speaking to TMZ, Grace ruled that the jury’s decision to acquit the rapper of most of his charges boiled down to his fat bank account.
Diddy’s Trial Verdict Dismissed as Rich Man’s Justice

The 65-year-old acknowledged that while the trial verdict left Diddy’s followers across the country happy, his devastated victims certainly would not share their excitement. She pointed out that the verdict went to show that there was such a thing as “rich man’s justice,” which the world has now witnessed in the case of the 55-year-old rapper. Elaborating on her idea of “rich man’s justice,” Grace pointed out that the outcome of the rap mogul’s trial felt nothing like “what justice is supposed to be.” Asked how she felt about the outcome, Grace, who appeared visibly enraged, revealed,
“I’m shattered. I’m devastated. I feel like I got kicked in the stomach and in the teeth, and I’m sure that that makes all of Sean Combs’ aka Diddy’s followers happy.”
Grace admitted that she found Diddy guilty on all counts, regardless of the jury’s inability to understand the facts her way. The journalist went on a slam, all Diddy’s followers rejoicing over the latest trial update. The legal commentator warned that the sentencing was yet to come, hence suggesting they may be jumping the gun, considering the two guilty verdicts against him could earn Diddy up to 20 years imprisonment if duly sentenced.
Going further, Nancy Grace, who has been an advocate for victims’ rights, noted that Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial verdict would become a major setback in the quest to have more victims speak up, especially women victims. Acknowledging that this new reality made her feel horrible, Grace added,
“How can I with a straight face counsel other rape victims to come forward, that there will be justice in the end? How can I do that after this?”
She also referenced the cross-examination of two of Diddy’s ex-girlfriends, Cassie Ventura and “Jane” (real name withheld), who testified against the hip hop mogul during the trial. According to her, their inability to withstand these cross-examinations weakened their credibility, ultimately becoming the major tipping point in Diddy’s case.
What’s Next For Diddy after Lengthy Detention?

Notably, the rap mogul ended up behind bars last September, following multiple civil lawsuits against him alleging sex trafficking and assault. At the time, a raid on Diddy’s propertied unveiled evidential pointers to his involvement in the alleged racketeering conspiracy and other allegations, including loads of bay oil. After months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York and several denied bail appeals, Diddy eventually stood trial, with the jury reaching a verdict on Wednesday.
The jury acquitted him on his most serious crimes, including racketeering, sex trafficking of Jane, and Sex trafficking of Cassie. However, they found the mogul guilty on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution (the Mann Act) involving Cassie Ventura and Jane, respectively. While no update on Diddy’s sentencing is available yet post-trial, he could face up to 10 years behind bars on each of those counts.
