Over the years, you’ve probably heard of people spouting about the ‘nuclear family’ in America. This idea cherishes a family of a straight married couple with two kids. However, we’ve officially broken the mold on what makes a ‘family’ here in the US, with families consisting of one parent, extended families, blended families, and more. That’s what makes families beautiful and unique! A two-mom family from Georgia, with so much love to give, are responding to questions from dumb Karens in a funny way.

Sometimes video include “Karen,” who is a busybody that can’t stay out of their business. In a recent video, Melissa, her wife, and their two kids stand in front of their door while they are asked questions by “Karen.” She wants to know all about their relationship and how they live life as a two-mom household. The video starts as Karen approaches and asks the moms, “Are you all related?” to which they reply, “Yup, they’re both our kids.”
She then continues to grill them and asks, “So which one of you is ‘the mom’?” Feigning disbelief, Melissa and her wife answer, “We’re both their mom… They have two.” In typical Karen fashion, she then asks them where their “daddy” is. When they say that there is no daddy, Karen asks, “Don’t you think they deserve to have a daddy?”
At this point, Melissa and her wife shut Karen down and tell her none of that is her business. Commenters agreed the types of people who question two-mom and two-dad relationships are the worst type of meddlers. One person agreed with Melissa’s video with a, “More times than I can count!”
Another commenter shared her story, “At our first OB appointment, we just moved from WV to OH, they kept asking about the “daddy”… miss maam how many times do I have to say this is my WIFE, WE are having a baby with a sperm donor then proceeded to ask me if I wanted his information there so he could get updates as ‘dad’ NO.”
The blatant disrespect, especially from a healthcare facility, is unreal. You expect people to understand and to mind their own families but this is daily life for LGBTQ+ relationships. Hopefully, over the years, people evolve to be more understanding and compassionate toward every type of family.
