Autumn, 29, was recently arrested after authorities discovered she had been working as an advanced nurse technician without a valid nursing license. Despite holding the role for some time, she had no legal qualifications to be practising as a nurse and was effectively posing as one.
It’s a clear case of someone stepping into a role they weren’t licensed for, and getting caught when the paperwork didn’t add up.
What makes this case more unsettling is that, by all accounts, Autumn was competent. Records show she treated more than 4,500 patients, which isn’t something you’d expect from someone entirely out of their depth. It raises questions about how she managed to go unnoticed for so long, and whether she had any formal training at all.
Still, her time posing as a nurse is over. After her supervisors became suspicious, an investigation led to her arrest. She is now facing 14 felony charges, including practicing medicine without a license and using someone else’s ID, according to The Daily Mail.
It doesn’t end there. She’s also accused of selling Ozempic to a hospital employee and giving a birth control injection to another. Both actions have added to the seriousness of the case.
Autumn is currently being held on a $70,000 bond. It may be some time before she’s released, and even longer before this case is resolved.

Surprisingly, a lot of people sided with the Florida nurse. This is because many believed she didn’t do something terrible, especially since she treated around 4500 patients. This is a nice sentiment, but I’m not sure that the world works like this. What’s even more surprising is how someone shared that Autumn was actually going to get promoted. “Apparently, she was so good at her job, she was gonna get a promotion,” they wrote. Now I wonder what made her supervisors suspicious.
While some people were oddly supportive of Autumn continuing to work, many were simply shocked that the situation went unnoticed for so long. “How did it take her 4,500 patients to get caught?” one person asked. Another added, “How does this even happen?”
Several comments placed the blame squarely on the hospital for failing to verify her credentials. “This is on the hospital. They should be checking her license,” one woman said. A TikTok user echoed that sentiment, asking, “Why are the people who hired her not under investigation?”
It’s not hard to see why a few people came to her defense, but the truth is this could have ended much worse. What led her to do this in the first place remains unclear.
