Massachusetts Woman Goes Full FBI After Finding Decoy House in Her Neighborhood, ‘I Was Skeptical Til I Heard Your Credentials’

The house itself isn’t the wildest part of this particular story

You see something weird in your neighborhood, point it out, and suddenly you’re the nosy neighbor. But what if you see something so strange and out of place that it needs called out? This was the reality for a woman living in Massachusetts who stumbled across a decoy house in her neighborhood. The poster, who has a background in dealing with the FBI, was naturally on guard. The hilarious video really gets you thinking about what could be going on under your nose in the place you call home.

The video was posted on TikTok by @ms.compost.magic and titled, “Why would there be a decoy house in my neighborhood!” Ms. Compost goes on to say that a strange house appeared in her suburban neighborhood recently. She explained that “it looks really cheap” and “doesn’t look like it’s made with good materials.” But she said the really weird part is that nobody lives there full-time or uses it as a vacation home. At this point, she shows us the house, which just looks like a typical build in a nice neighborhood.

Ms. Compost says that the really creepy part is that they went with a “theme” for the house even though it’s not being used. She pans over to their yard and shows that they made a garden bed in the front lawn that looks like Mickey Mouse’s head. This is kind of out of place, seeing as they live in Massachusetts and not close to Disney World. It’s also the only lawn decoration they have and the rest of the yard is quite desolate.

Now, this may not seem odd until Ms. Compost tells us the next part. She goes on to say, “The other day they pretended to have a birthday party there. They opened the garage door, hung a happy birthday sign, but no one was f*****g there.” She said that she notices the place is always empty and jokes, “Cause’ I’m a raccoon and I looked.” Ms. Compost then hits us with her credentials and why she’s best for the role of neighborhood sleuth. She says, “Fun fact about me is I grew up under heavy surveillance because the FBI was watching my house often” due to her family being drug traffickers. She really blew me away with that announcement!

One person commented, “I was skeptical til I heard your credentials. You’re the perfect person to notice smth like this.” Another person suggested that she “Go knock on the door & welcome them to the neighborhood.” But other commenters offered a little insight into what the house could be disguising underneath. One person said, “Transitional homes for abused women and children are often like this, right down to the cameras. Privacy protects people.”

However, in an update video, Ms. Compost offers a new position on what the Decoy House could actually be. She explains, “The house is owned by a guy who also owns other properties around this town.” She said he’s a mortgage broker and may be using the property as a primary residence as a way to avoid capital gains tax in the upcoming years. In her own words, she says that the situation may just be “rich people doing rich people things.” She then goes on to say that, if this is what he’s doing, it’s “very rude.” This is due to the fact that she lives in a neighborhood where many unhoused individuals live nearby and would benefit from a home like that. As one commenter said, though, “But the Disney flower bed is truly weird” and we’ll stand by that fact.
