Entitled Florida Karen Sends 72-Year-Old Grandpa to Hospital Over Mall Chair: ‘What Is Wrong With People’

So…was the chair worth it?

Of the many things in life worth fighting over, a seat in a mall’s cafeteria is not one of them. Unfortunately, a 44-year-old Florida woman was charged with battery after she got violent after being told she was sitting in someone else’s spot. She was seated at a table in Aventura Mall’s food hall when another woman came up saying that her family had already taken the table. The middle-aged woman refused to give up the spot, as she was waiting for her son and husband. Things just continued downhill from there.

The two Karens got into a heated argument, and then the other woman began taking the chairs away to another table. When it came down to the last chair, the angry pair threw hands, trying to tug the chair away from each other. The 44-year-old then slapped the other woman, after which a 72-year-old grandpa stepped in to break up the brawl. Police reports say that the angered wife struck the elderly man in the face, an injury that sent him to the hospital. WPLG Local 10 reports that the Florida woman who slapped the other two was arrested on two charges of battery.

Honestly, both were in the wrong, but the wife was definitely on the ‘higher degree of wrongness,’ as she shouldn’t have gotten violent with either of the people. The other woman, though, shouldn’t have been taking away chairs from the table, as that was just inconsiderate and rude to begin with. “Disgusting behavior,” remarked a commenter. “What is wrong with people? The sense of arrogance and entitlement is deplorable!” Another person chimed in, saying, “Clowns fighting over chair. One clown slapped an elderly person and ends up in jail.“

Whatever the case, if any evidence is needed, I’m sure the security cameras in the mall will tell the truth. Two unhinged Florida women fighting over a chair in Aventura Mall is ridiculous enough, but one is certainly worse than the other if she really did slap the grandpa without provocation. That said, it’s best just to walk away from anyone willing to throw down over a chair.
