Naturopathic doctors are consistently dragged on the internet for being glorified snake oil salesmen. These doctors aren’t your run-of-the-mill experts because they focus on holistic healthcare rather than conventional medicine. Naturally, the industry prays on people unsatisfied with traditional medical doctors. A Naturopathic doctor in California now has people scratching their heads as he walks through Target and points out household items he would never purchase. Why? Well, apparently they’re ‘toxic.’

Toxic items at Target that I would never let in my home as an naturopathic doctor. As a naturopathic doctor, I’m always educating my patience on the importance of minimizing toxic exposure for your health. By paying attention to potential sources of toxins in your environment and making substitutions to replace those toxic items with more natural and nontoxic options, you will be making a great investment in your health and the health of your family. In this video, I outline some of the top commonly used toxic items at Target. They include : ☠️ Laundry detergent ☠️ Dish soap ☠️ Air fresheners ☠️ Cleaning products ☠️ Plastic bottles and cups ☠️ Garbage bags ☠️ Foil What are your thoughts on these items? Comment below. Dr. Pedi Mirdamadi, ND—@drpedinaturalhealth on TikTok—tries to educate his viewers on what isn’t good for your home. The goal is for patients to know the “importance of minimizing toxic exposure for your health,” which is sound advice. One of the products is a scented candle. He says he would never use them because they are “loaded with fragrances and chemicals, which can trigger asthma and allergies.” Dr. Pedi then shows plastic drinking bottles made for children. He claims even though they say they’re BPA-free, they’re still “highly toxic.” He also focuses on black kitchen utensils and says to avoid them because they’re a “major source of microplastics.”

Dr. Pedi judges more products, including Clorox wipes, in which he pleads, “Please don’t be cleaning your house and surfaces with this, especially if there’s kids. Highly toxic, cancer-causing.” He also says to stay away from air fresheners, garbage bags, foil, and more, as well as showing his audience healthier alternatives.

At the end of his video, he mentions he’s not trying to “induce fear” with his videos. Instead, he wants to help his viewers make better decisions with their health. However, his video borderlines obsession. Though it pays to be mindful with what you purchase for your home, you will also find that some things are affordable and necessary for an average household on Dr. Pedi’s do-not-buy list.

Commenters agreed with this sentiment, with the understanding that you have to live a little. One commenter joked, “Well let me just throw my whole house away.” Another person said, “Sooo basically just don’t eat, clean or cook got it!!” It’s up to you to decide how you live and what you buy. And by all means, do what you feel is healthier with the support of your actual doctor. However, you’ll soon find it’s difficult to avoid certain products until a better alternative is made.
