This is already an everyday occurrence

Nowadays, people can no longer browse products in peace in a store. Anyone can encounter a Karen or an influencer eager to start a fight for no apparent reason. At least that’s what it seems like at first glance when two Karens confront a shopper at a Claire’s in New York, accusing her of shoplifting. The situation escalated to the point that the people involved resorted to physical violence, and at the end, someone was kicked out of the store.

Claire’s Union Square accused a shopper of stealing, allowed white women to assault her, then kicked out the victim

The user TheManager_1 reshared a video on r/KarenGoBrrr in which we first see the inside of a store and two women sitting in the back. The next moment, these two Karens jumped out of their chairs to confront the shopper who was recording the video, saying that they were stealing from the Claire’s in Union Square, New York. The women surrounded the shopper and got very close to them, complaining and trying to take their cell phone away because they were recording. The person filming says that they actually heard the women and that’s why they confronted the Karens. However, the shopper was on their own as the employees decided to help the Karens.

For their part, the Karens continued to say that the shopper knew what they was doing, that he was stealing, and that they would call the police. To this, user Maleficent-Act-8999 responded directly, saying, ‘Union Square in NYC? If they called the cops, you can have them arrested. Falsely reporting crimes became a law as of 2021 after the bird watcher in Central Park.’ Calling the cops could be a great idea since, according to the text, it was the Karens who became aggressive and tried to attack the shopper. Although it is not clear in the video, and at one point it even seems that the violence is the other way around.

Some Redditors also noted something unusual in the video. For example, ‘They may be annoying, but you didn’t prove your case. Casually throwing around racist doesn’t help you either. Why were you grabbing something at the end?‘ commented kooshi84. Meanwhile, divinecmdy wrote in the comments, ‘What are you grabbing at 0:27? That fits the narrative, especially since you say you didn’t grab anything.’ So it seems that the best thing for Claire’s employees to do was to remove the shopper from the situation and the store so that things didn’t continue to escalate.
