Custody battles can get ugly real quick and usually someone comes out as the loser. This is what happened in Texas after a mother was stupid enough to lose custody of her kid because of her actions. The custody battle was between the mother and her ex-partner and what went down was shared by the father’s lawyer. The lawyer said that the kid lives with his mother while the father has visitation rights. Instead of following the court’s orders, the woman decided to prevent the child’s dad from seeing him, which is when they took the issue to court. The father wanted his kid to be with him saying that he would allow his mother to see them. He also stated that she can’t make good decisions, which turned out to be the truth.
When the Texas mother saw that they were heading to court, she allowed the father to see their child. Instead of trusting that the dad would take care of their kid, she decided to put an AirTag in the child’s shoe during one of the visitations. Of course, when the dad found the device, he got rid of it. That’s not the worst thing.
The mother discovered that the AirTag was turned off and this is when she messed up. She sent a voice message to her ex-partner telling him that if he didn’t put the AirTag back where he found it, she would call her brother and have him kill him. Simply insane. This recording was enough evidence because the father’s lawyer played it at court. In just 10 minutes, the hearing was over and the mother lost custody. She wasn’t protecting her kid by what she did.
People Reacting to the Deranged Texas Mom
A lot of people found the Texas mother to basically be deranged. No sane person would do this. There were several people, though, who believed that the mom could have gotten away with her threat. One woman wrote, “She Should’ve Hid that air Tag Better.” Another woman said, “Never leave proof lol.” I’m not exactly sure that this is the moral of the story. Others took the side of the father, as one person said, “Let the father’s see their kids. As long as he isn’t abusive. Let him see his kids smh.” Another person wrote, “It’s sad that men have to fight just to be part of their children’s lives.” One woman also made sure to defend dads out there who are misunderstood. She wrote:
“She messed up in the first place. By not following the order. I was raised by my father, so I’m a strong advocate for the fact that not all dads are bad and not all mothers are great. Too many court systems favorite the mom, even if they are a terrible mother.”
What was insane to me was the fact that there was a decent number of people who sided with the Texas mother. “Sounds like dad tried to relocate the child and instilled fear in mom. How sad. Dad’s plan worked. Mom reacted exactly like he wanted. These men are playing these courts like a fiddle,” one woman wrote. It’s not the right thing to defend someone who threatened to kill their ex. Someone else expressed, “Weird. If he ran off with a child and they issued an amber alert, they would’ve called her brilliant for the AirTag.” There are definitely terrible fathers there, but that doesn’t mean that all of them are like this. Threatening to kill the father of your child is unhinged at best.
