To ring in the new year, Kinda Funny announced their 2018 forecast, revealing upcoming changes that fans can expect this year. One of which will be a couple of new shows.

While MCU in Review is well underway, and The PlayStation VR Show will be starting soon, the most interesting new show will be a Patreon exclusive. Greg’s Comic Book Club – also being called the Kinda Funny Comicscast according to Greg Miller on Instagram – will focus on the nerdy genre that gets the least time on Kinda Funny, comics.

In the recent January 2 post to the groups Patreon, details were revealed regarding what exactly the new show would revolve around. First and foremost, there will be Required Reading given out before each podcast.

Like high school or a book club, Required Reading will require those who watch the show to read up on the comic that will be picked each week. Anyone who has watched the Kinda Funny Morning Show will be no stranger to the Required Reading discussions. This months reading will be Kingdom Come.

Kinda Funny stated the discussions will be far more suited to the Book Club, as it’ll be the main topic of discussion for the podcast. If you are concerned about the broadcast becoming stagnant by only talking about one book per month, Greg Miller has got you covered.

Miller has detailed an ever-updating Pull List of the comics he has read recently, all of which he will address alongside the Required Reading. Depending on his opinions, he may talk about some comics for 30 seconds, while some might take 30 minutes.

The first Pull List is detailed below:

  • Kingdom Come (Required Reading)
  • Batman #37-39
  • Outcast Volumes 2 through 5
  • Words for Pictures (An actual book)
  • Teen Titans #15 & Super Sons #12 (Super Sons of Tomorrow Arc)
  • Doomsday Clock #2 and #3
  • Honor Girl (Graphic Novel)
  • Superman #39
  • Justice League #34-37

The first episode of the Greg’s Comic Book Club/Kinda Funny Comicscast will air this Wednesday, February 7, 2018, on the groups Patreon page for $1 and above tiers.
