One would never expect to be harassed while picking up their kids from school, but it seems that no one is truly safe anymore in the country, as there are a lot of racist people running around. Recently, a black mother in Arizona who was waiting for her kids to get out of school got harassed by a racist man. This individual pretended to call police officers on his phone and then started harassing the woman by insulting her and telling her to go to the slums.
This situation happened not long ago in a neighborhood in Arizona, where a racist man decided to harass a harmless mother. The woman was waiting for her kids near the school when the person approached, seemingly calling the police. The racist individual approaches the lady, saying through the phone, “Officer Mayor. I have parents parked illegally in our neighborhood.” He then pretends to listen to something on the phone and warns the lady that the cops will arrive in five minutes.
Naturally, his poor acting skills didn’t scare the mother, and she decided to stay in the neighborhood, as she was not doing anything illegal. However, this angered the racist man, who started yelling at her to “return to the slums.” Clearly, this was a racist comment toward the black mother, who quickly replied with, “Because of my skin color, I live in the slums?” To which the man said, “Really? Are we going to go there?” Which is quite ironic, as the man is the one who made the racist comment in the first place. After that, the woman decided to approach the man’s vehicle, but the racist person, instead of facing the mother he had insulted, decided to run away from the scene.
The man’s poor acting skills and racist comments angered a lot of people who quickly defended the mother on Reddit, while also taking a shot at the man’s poor ruse.
“Give this man an Oscar.” Said one user regarding the man’s fake phone call.
“‘Picking kids illegally’- Did he stop for a second to think how crazy that sounds?!” Commented another person.
While this was an unfortunate situation for the woman, we should be glad that things didn’t escalate further. With how racist people are running rampant around the country lately, we should be thankful that this cowardly man just made a fake phone call and fled the scene. Still, it is awful to see men like him harassing others who are peacefully waiting for their kids.
