Phoenix Man Raises Concerns Over U.S. Census Survey Asking for Children’s Personal Information: ‘They’re Asking Too Much’

He thought it was suspicious

Getting mail from the government is usually routine, but one Phoenix man said a recent letter left him alarmed. In a TikTok video, he explained that he received a U.S. Census survey asking detailed questions about children, and he felt that many of the questions went beyond health and into personal information that families should not be required to share.

The man showed the letter, which was addressed only to “Phoenix Resident,” and said it came from the Department of Commerce and the U.S. Census Bureau. According to him, the survey asked if any children lived in the home, how many, their ages, sex, language spoken, and even questions about Hispanic origin and race. “Why are they so concerned about the child’s Hispanic or Latino origin?” he asked, pointing out that similar questions weren’t asked about other groups.

He also took issue with questions about how well a child speaks English and whether the child uses medication, therapy, or special services. To him, this seemed less about health and more like gathering unnecessary details. “Most of that didn’t have nothing to do with the medical health of children,” he said, warning others not to fill out the form.

What People Are Saying About the Phoenix Man’s Concerns

In the comments, many viewers agreed with him and admitted they had also ignored similar surveys. One person wrote, “I got one, I threw it away and never heard from them again.” A second added, “The census was never that deep. They’re asking too much 🥴.” Another viewer remarked, “Gotten three of them so far. Took that five bucks and chucked the forms in the trash. Ain’t no way the government is getting any info from me (willingly) on my kid.”

Some were also vocal in their distrust of government intentions. “No one is getting any info from me that isn’t needed. Like you said, the ones that need to know already know. Protect your neighbors everyone!” one comment read. A different user said, “I’m not doing anything for the govt to help them destroy America further.”
