A lot of people nowadays decide to ignore people in need and just mind their own business. They worry about themselves instead which could be a valid reason to some. There was, however, a brave Black woman in New York who didn’t think of her own safety and decided to do a selfless act. She shared how she was passing by a building and saw that it was on fire. At this point, no one was doing anything and people were simply watching. Apparently, the fire department wasn’t even there yet. She then decided to go to every floor in the building (it had five) and knock on everyone’s door to warn them. You can see her running as fast as she could and knocking on one door after another. At one point, you can even hear dogs barking. So she didn’t just save humans but animals as well.
As the video continues, you can see that the New York woman’s efforts are actually working. People started leaving their apartments as she told them to get out of the building. She kept going up the stairs so that she could warn everybody. After making sure that she knocked on all the doors in the building, she got out of there. Thankfully, the fire department has gotten there at this point. She definitely helped save a lot of people, especially with the amount of smoke you can see coming out of the building. In another video, she said, “God just told me to run in this building and do it.” It was a selfless act that not everyone would dare to do. She should be recognized for what she did.
People Reacting to the New York Black Woman’s Heroism
People were left in awe of the New York woman for what she did. A lot of them started calling her a hero, which is something she deserves. “No one is saying this but you’re literally a hero? You saved lives literally,” one person wrote. Another person also said, “Literally God put you in the right place right time!!” It turns out that this was true since the New York woman replied and said, “RIGHT! Jace [her kid] got to school super late and everything! Had I taken him on time I would’ve already been home when the fire started.” It was meant to be. Someone else was shocked that no fire alarm went off as they said, “There wasn’t a fire alarm you could pull??? That’s a hazard in itself.” This made the hero confirm this as she wrote, “I didn’t see a single one and I didn’t hear any fire alarm going off either.”
While some people undermined what the New York woman did, some residents of the building thanked her in the comments. “Girl idk you but thank you you are on my Ring camera my son was able to get himself nd our dogs out safely because of you!!!” one woman wrote. This is something to be proud of. “Awwww I’m so happy my heart is so full a lot of people were stopping me telling me they saw me on their ring camera im like omg when those videos come out ima look so crazy LOL,” the New York woman said which means that others thanked her as well. Another woman also said, “thank you because of you warning people my neighbor was able to call me at work so I can get my son who was sleeping out of the house.” She definitely deserves her flowers.
