These days, many people are choosing side jobs like DoorDash and Uber to make a little extra money. It’s sometimes the only choice they have seeing how the economy is failing so many of us. Unfortunately, for one woman who worked as a DoorDasher, she found that not everybody is honest. Sometimes, this dishonesty and blatant disrespect for others can cost a person their job. This Maryland soon-to-be mom had something to say about it.
The TikTok video was posted by user @sop6109, who said a lady lost her job after a worker at a doctor’s office lied about not receiving her food. The woman has a conversation with a front desk worker. She says to her, “I just want to know why you reported that you didn’t get your food.” The front desk worker looks at her, irritated, and says, “It ain’t my food.” The DoorDash worker explains to her that they lost her the ability to work for DoorDash. She has been restricted from her account because of the report.
The woman then turns to another worker and explains DoorDash restricted her from her account because of them. She tells them she’s now in a bad position because of them. She says, “Now what? I have no job. I have a f*****g one year old in my car.” On screen, she also says that she’s five months pregnant and it’s difficult to find employment at this time. She goes on to say to the second worker, “You’re still working, right? You can still have your job, though. Right?” She then demands for the lady to bring the food out so she can make sure they do have it and confirm that there was no reason to make the report.
The former DoorDash worker explains that she wants to see the food on camera. That way, she could show DoorDash that she shouldn’t have lost her position with their company. The worker comes back out to the front and said she spoke with the employee who ordered the food. She says the worker is calling DoorDash to let them know that the food did actually arrive. It’s outrageous how far somebody will go to completely disassemble someone else’s life.
One person said in the comments that this isn’t something new that happens when you work at DoorDash. She explained, “People did it to me as well. I got warnings. I stopped and went to Uber Eats. Never has an issue and made more. I hate that people are that greedy.” Another person asked, “Why would somebody do that to somebody in this world? I don’t even know.” I have the same question. What is with people who want to dismantle other people’s lives instead of letting them have things?
