There’s been a massive uproar ever since the Charlie Kirk assassination went down last week. Folks on both sides are shouting their opinions about the controversial and popular podcaster, and the tensions have never been worse between political factions. Some folks are taking things too far, and a video captured a moment in Phoenix, Arizona, when a man randomly stomped all over a memorial and then paid the consequences.
A video shared on the r/PublicFreakout Reddit page by user biebrforro, captured in Phoenix, shows an unruly 19-year-old running amok and stomping on a Charlie Kirk memorial outside the Turning Point HQ out of spite. He was running through it, stomping and kicking it everywhere, until an elderly man grabbed hold of him and slammed him to the ground. Other people quickly kicked him while he was down, and beat him briefly before the camera cuts and shows the kid being arrested against a wall by police.
People cheered on the slam at the location, regardless of how you feel about the memorial destroying it only serves to cause trouble, and also makes the Left look bad. Here is what some of the online users had to say, as the reception to the incident was decidedly mixed.
“Grandma in the red/pink shirt was about to get a few kicks in before he was taken away.”
“The Florida government is literally vandalising the Pulse memorial, but a memorial to a Nazi is being protected? America really is a morally bankrupt society.”
“They care more about trash on the ground than the lives of the children kirk said were a worthy cost.”
“I’m on the left and no fan of Charlie Kirk and there’s literally no benefit to doing this. This is just schadenfreude and makes the left look bad”
“You can count me in the “not grieving” camp, but this is a classless thing to do.”
“Good job. This is not the memorial Charlie deserves. To really honor his memory is to release the Epstein Files! Like he asked.”
“Reddit is full of the insane”
Police identified the teen as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, and he was wearing the same shirt as Kirk’s killer on the day of the attack. Arizona is full of Kirk supporters, but online, people are seemingly ready to pounce on any tribute to him at a moment’s notice. The online fever isn’t going to stop anytime soon, and I expect it to get worse as the trial for his killer ramps up in the coming weeks.
