This week fans across the country excitedly tuned in to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty series finale. Across the internet, people were gushing and sharing their reactions to the final episode of the beloved summer series. However, for one woman in California, her finale viewing party ended with the police knocking on her door due to the excessive and loud screaming they heard while patrolling the neighborhood during that time.
Thankfully, the California woman’s Ring doorbell caught the interaction, which was later posted to TikTok. Two police officers came to her door, knocked, and she opened up for them happily. One officer explained that he was in the neighborhood and heard loud screaming, so he decided to take it upon himself to check on the woman and ensure that everything was okay.
While it was a nice moment and obviously comforting to know that the police were doing their jobs, the woman laughed at their appearance on her doorstep. Instead of being concerned, she told the officers that she was simply reacting to watching the finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
California Women’s Reaction To The Summer I Turned Pretty Causes Visit From Cops
In the episode, Belly’s romantic decision was finally revealed, and there were a couple of spicy scenes that definitely had fans’ jaws dropping. It’s easy to see why there would be screams, especially if the woman was watching the show with a group of her friends.
Thankfully, the police officers were understanding and amused. One even revealed that his wife also watches the show, and he gets why there was screaming.
“The summer we screamed so loud at the finale that the cops had to come check on us,” she captioned the video. The TikTok got a lot of traction, even getting a comment from the official The Summer I Turned Pretty account. It was also reposted by the author of the book series, Jenny Han.
Other brands followed such as Taco John’s, Boots and Hearts, Anytime Fitness, Uncrustables, The Container Store, and others. “Valid reaction,” one person joked in the comment section. “Those cops are definitely going to go home and watch the episode to see what caused you to scream so much,” another pointed out. “This is such an original experience,” a third pointed out.
If you watched the episode, you likely know which parts the California women were screaming about, and having the police come check on them will likely be just another fun memory associated with them watching and bonding over the show.
