It’s not the end of the world if an Airbnb host tries to be more accommodating toward their guests. They should try to do that, especially if the guests are made up of a bride and her party. An Airbnb Texas host wasn’t that thoughtful when dealing with a bride and those with her. According to the women, they booked an Airbnb to get ready until the venue opens. They were allowed to have six guests, but an overlap happened, and there was going to be one more guest there. They didn’t try to hide this from the host. In fact, they contacted her and informed her that an extra guest would be there for just 10 minutes. They also told her that three people were also going to go, so the number of people inside the Airbnb would have decreased. The host didn’t like that at all.
Instead of the Texas host being kind and not minding an additional guest being there for 10 minutes, she decided to kick out the bride and her party. She told them that they had to leave immediately because she doesn’t allow that number of people to stay there. The bride tried to reason with her and said that everyone could leave, and asked if she could be the only one to stay, especially since her stylist was just outside. Nothing would have happened if the host had agreed. What she did instead was to tell her that she had 30 minutes to leave or she would call the sheriff’s office. Threatening them with the police over one extra guest is wild. So of course, they had to leave before things escalated.
Airbnb then gave the Texas bride a full refund after her mother contacted them and told them what happened. It was also said that they took the host’s page down. Not to mention that people flooded the host’s comments to criticize her. All of this could have been avoided if she had just let them stay. They only needed 10 minutes, so they weren’t asking for the impossible.
People Reacting to the Texas Bride Getting Kicked Out
A lot of people were left furious on behalf of the Texas bride and her party. They found it unreasonable that the Airbnb host kicked them out just because of one extra person. So it was justified that one woman wrote, “That’s why I’m a hotel girl because that’s crazy.” Another woman asked in disbelief, “It was just 1 extra person ?!!??” Since the owner lived across the street from her Airbnb and could watch her guests arriving and leaving, one person wrote, “If you have to babysit your house like that, watch and don’t trust people, don’t put it on Airbnb.” Another person had a little bit of an extreme opinion as they said, “her actions had nothing to do with business because if it was about business, she would have just charged them extra for too many guests. This was about humiliation and control.”
Luckily for the Airbnb Texas host, not everyone agreed with the bride. Several people believed that rules are rules. “So bc it’s a wedding, you can break the rules to my booking??? Nah. Follow the rules or get out,” one woman wrote. Another person also asked, “My thing is this, why yall mad at the host? That lady read the agreement and agreed but yall mad she went against it??” More comments criticized the bride as another woman wrote, “Nahhhhhh yall need to leave that host alone!!!!! The bride is in the wrong, she violated policy and that’s her own fault!!!!!” The only thing that matters here is that the bride still managed to have her wedding despite this obstacle.
