In the autumn, football Sundays are an American pastime. If you don’t watch or follow the game, you still know a large group of people who do. This year, one Illinois woman has playfully decided to make some different weekend calls. She feels that for the dating world, so-called Hinge Sundays now trump football Sundays. In other words, game on!
Kelly Mackenzie Johnson is an Illinois TikToker based in Chicago. She recently posted a video clip about what it means to be dating in the U.S.A. during football weekends. For humorous reasons, she’s deemed them more beneficial for women on dating apps like Hinge.
She breaks down her hot take a little bit further:
The men are active on the app that day. They are responding to their messages. They’re hungover from the weekend, and they’re rethinking everything that just happened.
Kelly goes on to explain her Illinois-centric opinion, stating men likely regret not having that special someone to spend their lazy Sundays with. She claims that’s when Hinge males who date in Chicago begin messaging women more often, and with a lot more gusto.
The TikToker thinks so-called “fun with the boys” holds a different weight once Saturday morphs into Sunday. She urges other females to get their engines running. Smirking, she mentions that Sundays are no longer simply for sports.
Hinge Dating Theories For Illinois Only?
Kelly does state that her Hinge dating theories may only apply to those dating in the Chicago area. Yet she also feels it’s likely that the rest of the nation will see the same thing, from wherever it is that they’re dating.
From Illinois and elsewhere, most who left comments on Kelly’s comedic TikTok clip shared her sense of humor. However, a few women felt her encouragement to use Hinge more on Sundays should have been flipped upside down.
One viewer stated, “A man 30+ who still spends his Sundays hungover is an absolute no. Hard pass. This is your sign not to go on hinge on Sundays.”
