Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be out of sight, out of mind now for the Palace, with King Charles calling out their bluff of their big plans to get back on the Royal Family’s good side. But the Sussexes still have some steam left in them, teaming up with Disney for more promotional material. They’re also being a little more public with Archie and Lilibet by giving the children some more time to shine on camera, but fans have noticed some rather distressing signs in the footage.
A Reddit user expressed how shocked they were to see how “unkept and badly dressed” Archie and Lilibet were in a “documentary to be shown around the world.” It’s no secret that Meghan Markle spends thousands on designer labels, luxury brands, and other ways to look bougie in public or on camera. On the other hand, Lilibet seemingly has unwashed and uncombed hair in one picture, with Archie looking no better in “second-hand” pajamas. The commenter called out Harry and Meghan for not bothering to dress up their kids in decent clothing or shoes fit for a TV documentary.

“This is to me a sign of gross lack of care,” the Sussex follower remarked, saying how it doesn’t matter anymore what the varying color is of Archie or Lilibet’s hair. The important and concerning matter is that “the children look neglected and pauper, definitely not royal princess.” Another chimed in, saying that Meghan “doesnโt care about those children. Theyโre bargaining chips in the divorce, thatโs all.” Several others recalled how awful Archie looked during his birthday when he turned one, “in the grey vest and full nappy/diaper.”
This Isn’t What Royalty Should Look Like, Fans Argue
Of course, one could argue that Archie and Lilibet are just kids and shouldn’t be so pressured to look extravagantly fancy on screen. Yet, many fans are expressing that this is not the point. They are “descendants of royalty being photographed for literally billions of views, dirty and in their undies and nightwear.” And this shame will follow the children throughout their lives.
That said, fans are finding it difficult to pinpoint exactly what Harry and Meghan are trying to convey about their family. Are they aiming for a luxurious look or royal appeal, or are they just trying to come off as a carefree, casual American family? As King Charles stated, he won’t accept any half-in, half-out, or half-hearted royal members of the Palace. And with how the Sussexes portray themselves, they’re just giving themselves a bad look to the public, critics believe.
Unfortunately for Harry, this Disney promotion goes against what he initially was against: the public putting his children under a microscope. But it would seem Meghan has gone with the “loophole of not showing their faces,” and thus, trading the “well thought-out appearances by royal kids in the name of King and country for scruffy, half-*ssed merching for clicks.”
