To speak out in support of clean air infrastructures, as well as talk about how damaging the COVID-19 virus has been to the younger generation. She proclaimed that she’s “furious on their behalf,” and that it’s the leaders of the world to blame for failing to preserve children’s well-being.
The Yale student continued, saying how she’s terrified that the next generation will have to suffer the consequences if action isn’t taken to move towards cleaner air and stronger awareness. Otherwise, viruses such as COVID or SARS could strike again, she implied, according to ABC. Of course, the message she’s conveying is undoubtedly practical, as air pollution is already a notable problem in the larger cities of the US, particularly in metropolitan areas. This is also not the first time she’s made a public outcry for cleaner air; she spoke out against mask bans during a Los Angeles County Board meeting.
Violet Affleck Slammed as Being a Shameful Display of Ben Affleck’s Parenting
Unfortunately for Ben Affleck’s daughter, Violet’s message wasn’t taken too kindly by online commenters, with many calling her out as nothing more than a “Nepo babies thinking they earned the right to tell everyone how to live.” Many others added that she’s “embarrassing” and putting the failure of her parents on full display. Violet Affleck was already under heavy speculation earlier this year, with rumors that she was going to drop some bombshells about Ben Affleck’s unsavory relationship with Jennifer Lopez. But now that she’s come out of the woodwork to deliver this pro-mask and pro-clean-air UN speech, many feel like she’s a joke and an embarrassment to her parents.
“She needs mental help,” remarked a commenter. “If only they made a mask that stopped the spread of stupidity,” added another. Plenty more expressed how they don’t want to “roleplay” being in a pandemic forever or listen to celebrity children act like their words hold importance. Fox News even brought up her dad, Ben Affleck’s addiction to smoking, and even she can’t get him to quit. Yet, here she was at the UN, giving a speech about keeping the air clean. Of course, this isn’t fair for her, as him quitting smoking is not her decision to make. Not to mention the whole narrative that celebrities’ children don’t have the right to plead for a change isn’t right.
Whatever the case, the fact that Ben Affleck’s daughter Violet got as far as speaking at the UN is somewhat impressive, especially seeing how it’s for a relatively solid cause.
