A woman in Georgia was not happy after she set out for what should have been a sweet afternoon lunch with her adorable baby girl. However, upon arriving at a local restaurant, the mother and her daughter took a seat and were soon after confronted by another patron, who claimed that her baby was making too much noise and asked her to remove the child from the restaurant, all because the man claimed that he had sensitive ears.
According to the TikTok video posted by the Georgia mother, the man asked her to leave the restaurant with her 8-month-old baby girl, who was excitedly and happily screaming as a way of communication. Of course, the mom didn’t take kindly to the request and pulled out her phone to film her reaction to the out-of-line request.
“I know it’s loud, but he’s an adult. He can leave,” the woman says, revealing that the man’s sensory issues were his own to deal with, not hers to cater to. “You need to learn to be respectful,” the man tells the angry mother. “She’s a child, sir,” the mother fired back.
Georgia Mother Hits Back At Male Karen Who Complained About Her Baby Screaming
The man went on to reveal that adults come to restaurants to eat food and have discussions, and that they don’t want to hear children screaming. The mother then revealed that she’s happy and “grateful” that her child is verbal and able to use her voice, and that he shouldn’t speak for others in the restaurant.
“You’re disrespectful. You’re entitled, and you’re being privileged right now,” she shoots back at him. The man then takes the conversation to a new level, claiming that he’s not responsible for the way that men have likely “mistreated” the mother in the past. Of course, that comment set her off further, revealing that she’s a happily married woman. The discussion then turned to race, and the woman made it clear that she never called the man racist, despite his white presenting appearance.
Many on TikTok were on the side of the mother. While it’s clear that not everyone would want to hear a baby screaming during their meal, it is a fact that you can’t control others in a public setting.
“Child free life doesn’t mean child free world,” one person commented. “I have sensory issues but I would have just left. I would never police a child or a mother in a public place. People really have some nerve,” another stated. “He’s really beefing with a BABY,” a third social media user pointed out. “Baby squeals should make everybody happy,” a fourth comment read.
Social media could debate this topic forever. However, this Georgia man likely learned a lesson about making comments to mothers out in public.
