Season 20 proves otherwise. The Sunday, September 28, premiere looks to start with a serious conversation between Robyn Brown and Kody Brown. It gives off a real ick factor, so uncomfortable that it will make even the most die-hard TLC viewers squirm.
Robyn Brown, now Kody’s last standing wife, appears blindsided when her husband lets loose about what he really wants next for their lives. Mainly his. Kody appears to be a man on a mission, according to People.
Testing the waters, Kody decides to drop his latest bombshell on Robyn. He informs her that he is considering bringing a new wife into their family mix. The reason behind his plan, though, is what really raises eyebrows.
Kody Brown Makes Bold Demand To Robyn Brown
Instead of talking about love, stability, or family bonds, Kody Brown lays it all on the table, and when Robyn hears his true reasons, she is stunned to say the least. He explains to her that he is at a stage in life where his wants and needs appear to be in a different place.
While he wants a new wife to be comfortable and fit in, her feelings are not all that important to him. His main priority is looks and physical attraction. This admission doesn’t just come across as shallow. It comes across as downright insulting.
“I’m afraid, at this state in my life, [it] would be just how good looking she is,” he confesses. “I’m not kidding.” Kody insists that he would “want to be able to connect” with a new partner.
Robyn Calls Kody Out for Being a Pig
This is the exact last thing Robyn Brown wants to hear coming from her Sister Wives spouse. So the tension is mounting. She pushes back against Kody’s blunt and unapologetic attitude.
In her confessional, she doesn’t even try to hide her disgust, calling him “a bit of a pig.” And honestly, who could blame her? His tone makes it seem less like he’s seeking partnership and more like he’s shopping for eye candy.
But here is the kicker. The Sister Wives star next reveals that another woman has already expressed interest in joining the family. This announcement seems to take Robyn Brown by surprise.
However, Robyn has not heard the worst of her husband’s raunchy confessions. Next, Kody tells her, and not so subtly, that what he’s truly after has more to do with his sex drive than anything else. Robyn is visibly disgusted, but Kody, however, shrugs it off. Robyn says, “You don’t understand how you’re coming across.”
“I know, I know. I’m a guy and I don’t freaking care,” he replies. Cue the disgusted groans and eye rolls from Sister Wives viewers. It is unclear just yet whether or not a new wife will actually enter the picture.
But if any woman is daring enough to step into his chaotic world after hearing him spell out his raunchy expectations, more power to her. Sister Wives fans know all too well that life with Kody Brown comes with drama you can’t escape.
