Ariana Grande has always been outspoken against political injustice. A recent example would be her teaming with hundreds of other artists and the ACLU to speak out against Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension. Now, the thank u, next singer has placed herself in Donald Trump’s sights by making a post questioning whether Trump supporters still hold out hope for the President to make any actual positive changes for the country or economy. In response, the White House has issued a salty statement that many find both immature and unnecessary.

According to TMZ, a spokesperson for the White House told Ariana Grande to “save your tears” because Trump’s “actions ended Joe Bidenโs inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investments.” The representative continued, stating that the President even signed an executive order to prevent Ticketmaster from ripping off Ariana Grande’s concerts. “Get well soon, Ariana!” the spokesperson sarcastically concluded.
“Im sorry, the government is about to shutdown again, and responding to Ariana Grande is their priority?” an online commentator questioned. “They have all the power and STILL can’t keep the government running,” responded another. A third added that the entire gimmick of the current administration is a senseless culture war to get its voters and supporters riled up. “Their priorities are so f*cked up,” commented a fourth. A fifth pointed out how TMZ‘s headline claimed the White House was “blasting” the “Break Free” songwriter, but Trump’s Truth Social account only has around 7 million followers compared to Grande’s 300+ million followers. “I think Ariana put HIM on blast,” they remarked.
As a refresher, the “Focus” artist’s post talked about how over 250 days have passed since Trump’s inauguration. Since then, ICE has terrorized thousands of immigrants and their families, trans people have had their rights unfairly torn away without reason, and free speech is no longer a guaranteed concept in the States. Jimmy Kimmel is the latest example of someone’s free speech being directly affected by the government, not simply canceled by majority vote. Grande then asks if life has actually gotten better for those who voted for Trump. Tariffs have ruined pricing, families are struggling with health insurance, and people’s jobs and livelihoods have been ruined. In other words, the Trump supporters’ votes have yet to pay off, she concludes in her post.
“She asked some questions I think a lot of us are having right now, ‘was it f*cking worth it?‘” says a Redditor. Another added that it’s wild to imagine people running the country have the time and mental energy to criticize a celebrity’s post on social media. With so much going on right now, you’d think they’d have better things to do. Nevertheless, as online users say, they believe the administration isn’t out to make lives better, but to just instigate a never-ending culture war to get conservatives on its side.
