A Los Angeles entrepreneur was allegedly threatened by a stranger who insisted she didn’t live in their gated community. According to the TikTok video she posted, the woman had been on her way home with her 14-year-old son when the incident happened. Because she was driving a loaner car, she didn’t have her regular gate clicker. When her son tried to enter the code and was unsuccessful, another driver behind them indicated they would open the gate instead. However, since the gate still didn’t move, the woman eventually drove in through another side exit as a different vehicle was leaving. What she didn’t know, she said, was that the same driver had decided to follow her all the way to her driveway.
More on What Happened
As soon as she pulled into her garage, the other female driver rushed toward her, pointing and demanding to know why she had entered through the wrong gate. The woman said she got out of her car and immediately asked the stranger to back up, but the latter placed a hand on her shoulder instead. She pushed the hand away, saying, “Please do not touch me,” only to hear accusations that she didn’t belong in the community. The stranger allegedly repeated, “You don’t live here. I pay taxes. You don’t live here,” while ignoring the woman’s requests that they leave the garage.
Although she finally got the driver to move out into the driveway, they still allegedly warned her to “be careful.” In one clip, they can be heard saying, “Video me, yeah, video me, baby,” before finally driving off. The ordeal didn’t end there. Later, while she was out dropping off her son, she encountered the same woman again near a stop sign outside the community. This time, the lady allegedly said, “You better watch yourself.” At that point, the business owner filed a police report and began seeking a restraining order. “There was no reason for that woman to jump out of her car, leave it in the middle of the street, and come reprimand me and then threaten me,” she said.
Netizens’ Reactions to the Los Angeles Woman’s Encounter with the Stranger
In the comments section of the TikTok video, many viewers seemed outraged by the stranger’s actions. One person said, “This makes me so angry!” Another wrote, “This is so upsetting.” “When will the mistrust, dislike, hate, and unwarranted line of questioning end?” a third asked.
Several people also urged the entrepreneur to take legal action against the other driver. “I hope y’all stay safe and also those cops get her and she gets arrested for a hate crime!” one viewer commented. Someone else described the behavior as “disgusting” and added, “You should absolutely get the police involved. It sure sounded to me like she threatened you.” A more skeptical voice remarked, “The police will do absolutely NOTHING. I’ve seen the exact same situation where YT people who went through what you did saw perpetrators arrested, but when the roles are reversed nothing happens.”
