I always thought that students are supposed to respect teachers. This new generation, though, is kind of different. A high school class in Texas did the exact opposite of treating their teacher with any respect at all. What they did instead was steal from her during the class. “Don’t come in my room violating me in my space,” she told them as she started talking about being stolen from. According to her, someone from the class stole her Hello Kitty collectible which she left on the desk. They didn’t stop at that. She was kind enough to give them candy when they asked, and someone decided to ruin this and stole her candy as well. Mind you, these are high schoolers. You would think that they know better.
Instead of heading to the principal, the Texas teacher decided to give the students an assignment. They had to write a journal prompt about their behavior. Anyone else would have been more extreme in their reaction. What made this worse was the fact that she had had the collectible for six years, and this was the first time that she opened it. It was also given to her by one of her students. She made it clear that the thief is clearly a girl, but no one came forward. There was one girl, though, who kept asking questions about the collectible, which honestly made her look suspicious. On the bright side, some students felt bad for their teacher so they started gifting her Hello Kitty items. Someone from TikTok also sent her a Hello Kitty Funko Pop instead of the one stolen. It would still be better if she got the original one that she had at first.
People Reacting to the Texas High School Students Stealing from Their Teacher
A lot of people were upset on behalf of the Texas teacher, especially since the Hello Kitty collectible meant a lot to her. This made some people believe that she should have reacted differently. “I’ll be emailing parents cause where is my shit,” one person wrote. Another person believed that the whole class should have been punished instead of just writing the assignment. “Asking too many questions. Put it back on the desk simple. Whole class will be punished until it’s brought back. Simple,” they said. Someone else shared what their own teacher did when someone stole from her. “I remember somebody stole a teachers phone from inside of her desk and we couldn’t leave class until the person gave it back,” they wrote.
Some comments also tried to guess who stole from the Texas teacher based on the video she shared. A lot of people suspected the girl who was asking a lot of questions. This is why one person wrote, “As someone who hung around the wrong crowd in high school the girl who asking common sense questions took it.” Another person said, “that girl be asking too many questions. SHE DID IT.” That could be possible. Other than guessing who did it, others were shocked at the fact that it was high school students who stole from the teacher. “HIGH SCHOOL??” one person asked in shock. Someone else said, “High school though? They too old for that.” It is definitely shocking that they are that old and still did it. I doubt that anyone would come forward though. At least she received a replacement.
