You know times are desperate when delivery drivers break into customers’ sealed meals just to potentially win prizes for a promotional event. That said, a desperate Arkansas deliveryman opened a customer’s McDonald’s meal to peel off the Monopoly pieces from the fries and drink. Trying to win some free fast food is understandable, especially in this economy. But stooping to the low of stealing peelable vouchers from others is downright pathetic, not to mention unacceptable for a food delivery driver.
Obviously, the Arkansas customer was none too happy when they discovered their McDonald’s meal’s peelables were missing. So, they took to Reddit to post their “mildly infuriating” situation: “Food delivery guy peeled off the monopoly pieces before dropping off my dinner.” Many in the comment section found this deliveryman’s crime more hilarious than serious, comparing the driver to the discontinued Hamburglar mascot. Naturally, plenty of others were concerned that a deliveryman tampering with food is out on the loose.
“That bum is probably just searching for McDonald’s orders and will continue to do this. Embarrassing,” remarked a user. The hopes of winning free food or a Jeep must be pretty high for the culprit to get into such petty shenanigans. Others call for OP to report the Arkansas deliveryman with accusations of “tampering or manipulation” with the meal. Some commenters even went as far as to claim it was a conspiracy, suggesting that a McDonald’s worker removed the peelables so the driver would get the blame.
Losing out on two promotional code vouchers is technically not a big deal, but the idea that the driver would be so bold as to sneak into a customer’s meal just for freebies is concerning. “The delivery guy shouldnt have that level access to my food if he can peel the sticker he can suck the salt off my fries or spit in my drink. I’d complain,” suggests a Redditor. Other commenters claim that OP actually removed the peelable codes and is trying to ragebait the subreddit. And if that’s the case, they’re definitely doing a good job.
