People create new trends on TikTok every day, and, normally, others would want to try them. Two Teenage girls at a South Dakota Dollar Tree store were filming themselves doing a new TikTok trend. The trend is basically one ”here they go to a store and pick things to buy and then show them to each other. They were having fun while filming, but this didn’t last for long. One of them noticed in the camera that a woman appeared and was standing behind them.
She turned out to be the manager of the store. She asked them what they were doing because an employee saw them putting something in their pockets. If they were planning to steal, why would they take the snacks out and hold them in their hands? The girl who uploaded the video of her and her friend had to write, “I PROMISE WE WERE NOT STEALING we literally just put them under our vests to hide it from each other lol.”
The manager of the South Dakota Dollar Tree didn’t listen to the girls at all. She just told them to leave or she would call the cops. Of course, the two girls looked at each other in shock, as they were being accused of something they didn’t do. The manager’s attitude then got a lot worse as she told them, “We aren’t here to make TikToks.” You could have asked them nicely rather than having an attitude. Again, the two girls looked at each other and smiled at how absurd the situation was. “It’s not even [expletive] funny. You want me to call the cops?” the manager then asked them. Let’s hope that she was having a bad day because it would be terrible if this were her usual attitude. Imagine threatening teenage girls to call the cops on them because of a TikTok video.
While the South Dakota manager kept talking, the two girls stayed quiet. They didn’t even argue, probably because of how she was acting. They finally responded and asked, “What is your deal?” to which she replied that they had the merchandise in their pockets. If she knew that they were filming TikToks, why would she think that they were stealing? She could have talked to them calmly or even waited to see what they would do next before approaching them.
One of the girls then proceeded to say, “You don’t gotta raise your voice.” Well, the manager didn’t like that and asked them to leave again. Since she told them to either pay for the products or “drop it” and go, one of the two girls did just that. She threw what she had in her hands to the ground before picking up the phone and walking away with her friend. Right before they left the store, one of them said to the manager, “You learn how to grow up. Look at you grown [expletive] woman yelling at us teenagers.” She has got a point. The manager definitely overreacted. Now, a lot of people know the location of the store, and it has just gotten bad publicity. At least the two girls got to laugh about the situation.
People Reacting to the Unhinged South Dakota Dollar Tree Manager
People were shocked at how unhinged the South Dakota manager was. She did all of this while working for Dollar Tree. It’s not worth it. Since she acted like this, one person wrote, “the pay can’t be that good…” Others then replied, saying that the pay at Dollar Tree is actually terrible. “Its not and these companies don’t give [expletive] about them, I know cause I work with the Corporate office,” one person replied. Someone else who used to work as a Dollar Tree manager also said, “it’s definitely not I was a manager there getting paid $13 every two weeks, she did too much.” Some comments also enjoyed how one of the girls threw what she had to the ground. “I love the girl that threw it on the floor,” someone wrote. Another person then said, “I love how you actually DROPPED IT and went.”
More people saw that the South Dakota manager was overreacting. One person had to write, “mind you it’s not considered stealing unless you actually leave the store too like what they clearly saw yall getting more stuff.” Another person then pointed out that the woman knew that the girls were filming a TikTok. “She knew they were making a tiktok so idk what the problem is obviously they weren’t stealing,” they said. It seemed like she just wanted to ruin the girls’ day, which made one person say, “Ik she hates her life.” Some people also believed that the girls should have reacted differently. “Oh hell no you guys were to nice,” one woman wrote. Someone else then said, “god knows not to put me in these situations.” The manager is lucky that the girls were actually nice. They didn’t deserve this treatment.
