Social media has become a platform for sharing various aspects of life. However, that also includes some less-than-excellent behavior from certain individuals. Well, that’s exactly what this California woman would run into as she was harassed by a “Karen” while at the pool. The woman would then post a TikTok to the account @Glamxxbysam as the clip would quickly go viral online. The video has over 1 million views, with 180,000 likes, as social media sees an older woman freak out at a local pool.
The TikTok begins with the altercation already underway. The woman recording claims that two older women have allegedly been harassing her. The text on the video also reads “Karen crashout,” and then refers to the public pool as “The old person pool.” This is most likely since, despite the California woman recording, the only other people there were the two older women. As the video progresses, things really start to heat up as the women begin to raise their voices.
California Pool Karen Freaks Out and Gets Put on TikTok
One of the older women walks directly over the camera and states that she was not harassing the TikToker. However, she also states that she told her to “Get out of our pool.” She then gets even closer to the camera in order to reveal her personal information. Things like her full name (Rose Guntz) and even what housing unit she lived in (space 70). She then claims to be 70 years old, and proceeds to ask the woman recording, “Where’s your grandmother?”
While it is unclear what really started the original issue between the California women, viewers are seemingly left with more questions than answers. Although some commenters found the video extremely hilarious. “She’s honestly iconic for that,” wrote one. However, there were plenty of others ripping into the Karen’s behavior. TikToks like this have taken the internet by storm over the last couple of years. Karen content seems to be in high demand, with no shortages in sight.
For the most part, it would appear that the California women handled the situation fairly well. The older women were allegedly being very rude to her, and she called them out on it. While it is unknown what occurred after the camera was shut off, viewers can only hope the situation de-escalated. Despite the older women being rude, at least the woman behind the camera has a funny story to tell for the rest of her life. However, she will probably want to find a new pool to swim in.
