Instead of just moving on, she pulled out a gun and brandished it at the protesters, likely as an attempt to intimidate them. Fortunately, police acted fast, arresting her before the situation could spiral out of control.
The video of the incident captured the South Carolina woman being taken into custody. She was clearly wearing a T-shirt with Trump’s name on it, confirming her support for the former president. As officers arrested her, protesters could be heard cheering and recording the moment on their phones. “Peaceful protest,” one man shouted, as the crowd began chanting “USA” while the arrest unfolded. The woman, still facing the protesters, didn’t seem too pleased with the scene in front of her. Toward the end of the footage, an officer escorted her away in handcuffs. According to WBMF News, Mary Moriarty, 59, of Surfside Beach, was charged with pointing and presenting a firearm. All of this could have been avoided if she had simply chosen to ignore the protesters and drive away.
