There have always been people who try to take advantage of a system for their own benefit, no matter how many rules and security measures are in place. Unfortunately, there are many abusive people, but the saddest thing is that sometimes others may be the ones who have to pay for their nasty actions. For example, after a DoorDash driver in Kentucky delivered some pizzas to a customer, the customer reported that all of them were missing a slice. Strangely, all three pizzas were missing a tiny piece โabout 1/4 of a slice.
Redditor PerspectiveObvious87 shared a recent incident involving an order on r/doordash_drivers. According to OP, they took a DoorDash order to deliver four pizzas to a hospital. However, after making the delivery, this DoorDash driver in Kentucky received a message from the customer with a photo saying that a slice of pizza was missing. For this reason, OP asked the customer to contact the pizza place, as drivers are not allowed to open food containers. So we can assume that if something happened, it must have been at the pizza place. Yet some users asked whether the containers had “security seals” to prevent tampering with the food. The driver said yes, but the items were somewhat damaged, which may have led the customer to believe OP was responsible.
“Is the customer trying to imply that a driver keeps a solid cutting board and a pizza cutter in their car to steal a fourth of one piece of a pizza?” commented Demonshaker.
To this, the OP answered directly, saying: “That is what the customer implied!! I was like whoooooooo has time for that? Can you imagine!?!“.
To tell the truth, the shape of the missing slice is very strange. It’s as if someone cut between two slices to make a new one, especially since there are still eight “complete” slices. The cut was almost surgical. This is precisely why many believe it would be difficult for a driver to do something like this on the road. Also, the driver would need the right tools at all times. Others recalled an incident with a famous pizza chain that used leftover pizza slices to make “new pizzas.” Though using different slices made the pizzas look incomplete, as the sizes and colors of the slices varied. Hopefully, after the customer contacts DoorDash customer service, the company will investigate and fix the root cause of the problem.
